Liathach, Torridon

Updated: Apr 5, 2021

Today was an epic day to do the Liathach traverse in Torridon. One of the classic ridge walks in the UK and we got amazing views and weather along the way.

As we walked up the steep ascent we could see through the band of cloud at half height with the summits in the sunshine. Hoping that the weather would hold for when we got to the ridge we made good time into the sunshine.

With the cloud hugging the southern slopes all day, the northern aspects were cloud free and gaves us great views to Beinn Alligin and Beinn Eighe. Once on the summit of our first munro we descended the boulders and made our way across the sandstone pinnacles. We took a direct line scrambling up and down the main parts of the ridge in the sun and with little wind.

Once over the central section we just then had the final ascent to summit our second munro before the steep descent back to Glen Torridon.

If you would like to tackle the main munro summits in Torridon next year then have a look here https://www.thehighlandmountaincompany.co.uk/torridonmunros
