Today i aimed for Stob Corie nan Lochan for an introductory day in the snow and to have a good walk in Glencoe.
The weather was noticeably warmer starting off and a lot of the snow on the lower slopes had melted overnight. On the walk in up the steep path we were sheltered from the strong southerly winds and hit the snow line around 500m.
Even though the snow was soft, having crampons on was a great benefit and gave the guys a good amount of milage walking around on varied terrain. We then gained the steep slope into the corie which was completely clagged in with cloud, warm, with all the rocks we could see which were black.
A quick look at ice axe arrests and we made our way back down out of the wind and in to Glencoe.
