Today Lena and myself used the opportunity of the fresh snow to do a ski tour up to the summit of Creag Meagaidh.
With fresh snow down to the road it was skis and skins on from the car. We made use of the forest access track into the glen to gain height on really good powder.
Once above the forest the snow was more wind scoured but still with a deep covering over the moorland and skinnable. Once up high there were patches of ice and very hard windslab which kept us going to the summit.
With skins removed we had an amazing descent down the broad plateaux to the col and then down to the tree line on a firm base, a descent of about 550m, in the sun!
