It was a glorious autumn day on Ben Nevis today. With a chill in the air early on the temperature increased as we made good progress up the mountain path.
We had good views into Glen Nevis and the Mamores and a lot of times we had the path to ourselves. We made the summit in 3 hours and we didn’t hang around with the below freezing temperatures (there was a small amount of ice forming in natural seepage lines).
It is worth checking the summit temperatures at this time of year as there can be a big difference from Glen level to summit.
