Today i was out walking the classic horseshoe of Beinn Alligin in Torridon.
This autumn is turning out to be very good with dry, sunny days and today was no different. But there was a reminder that it is mid October with a cold wind blowing across the tops.
We did the route anti-clockwise taking in the horns of Alligin first to gain the height. With good scrambling over the rocky steps on cold rock we took as a direct line as we could across the 3 small peaks.
It was at this point that the wind picked up and we went from wearing 1 layer to everything plus hat and gloves.
We made good progress over the first munro of Sgurr Mor still getting views through the cloud to the west coast. From that summit it was a quick walk round to the second munro, Tom na Gruagaich. On the descent we started to get views across to Glen Torridon and Liathach. A great day out in the autumn highlands.
