Association of Mountaineering Instructors workshop

Today i was out with fellow Fort William based mountaineering proffessionals throwing ideas, practices and disscussions around about the topic of ‘short roping’ clients on mountaneering terrain.

Keeping people safe in an efficient, enjoyable and timely way is an art rather than a science, and it is good to chat to others to improve and learn.

If you have been taken along classic ridges like Tower Ridge, Curved Ridge, Aonach Eagach or on Skye you would have seen this process in action.

Thanks to Kirkhope Mountaineering for organising and also Lochaber Guides, Hunter Mountaineering, West Coast Mountain Guides and Hedridean Pursuits.

Looks like a simple technique but there is a lot of thought process behind the method.
